Beautiful locking, proven dam

AutumnSun's Glittering Rain

ARI# 31990967   D.O.B. 8/17/2011

Suri, Female, Proven | Medium Fawn

Full Peruvian
Sire: Pucara Accoyo Taj  | ARI# 30697898  | Beige |
Dam: Pucara Beachwood's Stephanie | ARI# 32042771  | Medium Brown
Service Sire:

Rain is the best combination of personality and fleece. Her fine and lustrous fiber locks in a style all the way around her body. When in the show ring, the judges were impressed both with Rain's consistent style and excellent relocking as well as her very fine fiber with its luster.

Rain has a lineage that boasts some of the best in the industry. Her sire is the Accoyo Taj from Pucura International. Jude and Al have said of Taj: "Accoyo Taj represents the coming together of two Accoyo lines that have put ribbon winner after ribbon winner into the show ring... Taj is an elegant representation of these genetics." As if that was not enough, Alpacas at Windy Hill's statements about NGG Accoyo Apache II, Taj's sire: "Apache is virtually a legend in the suri world. Some would say he is "the Best" suri herdsire in the country. Certainly he has a sterling reputation. For parents he boasts 2 of the finest suris that were ever imported. ...we can truly say that some of our best suris have been Apache offspring."

Rain's dam also hales from the Pucura breeding program, and thereby also promotes the lineage of industry-shaping herdsires. Pucara's statements about Mr. Mahogany, Stephanie's sire, are glowing: "Our boy Mr Mahogany has been an important male for us in Australia. He was a blue ribbon winner at our second most influential show in Australia....Mr M has only ever given us colored cria. He brings to the mating pens some of the quality we expect from white suris. He displays exceptional bone and structure, good density and luster across an even fleece."

With a lineage like that, we selected Kobe for her first breeding. Kobe has had an outstanding show career with many Champion wins even at Nationals and Futurity and multiple Get of Sire awards won by his notable champion offspring. Rain had a beautiful brown female cria by Kobe -- named Afire appropriately for her beautiful color.

Her second cria was a brilliant girl by our multiple champion Laszlo! This cria was born healthy (6/20/17) and Rain was a great mom! But, in herd accident, another alpaca accidentally stepped on her neck and tragically her neck was broken. We were sad to see this special girl go.

1st - 2015 Suri Symposium Fleece Show 3 yr old MF out of 11 entrants! - Jude Anderson. "Great fineness and handle at that age!"
2nd - 2014 GWAS 2 yr old MF - Amanda VandenBosch
(1st was the Reserve Champion for Lights)
* 4th - 2014 GWAS, Produce of Dam for Stephanie (along with Savy). We were very happy with this placing since all the alpacas being shown to represent their dams that placed above were champions and some from the same sire.
1st - 2013 ABR Fall Festival 2 yr MF - Kathy Klay
Kathy noted her luster, conformation and the fact that she was even more fine than the yearling class.
1st - 2013 ABR Fall Festival Produce of Dam, Stephanie - Kathy Klay & Julio Sumar
The luster, fineness and consist fiber between both were complimented.
3rd - 2013 AOBA Nationals Yearling MF, never shorn - Wade Gease
3rd - 2013 GWAS (Level 5) Yearling, MF, never shorn - Kristen Buhrman
Loaded with several well bred alpacas from 'big name' farms, this was an impressive class! We placed very well at third! The judge was herself impressed with the entire class, commenting that all had really positive traits... all good luster and lock styles, strong conformation, and overall style. She noted that Rain had a finer fleece than 2nd place with a beautiful style and increased density to place her over the next alpaca placing.
2nd - 2013 MOPACA Yearling, MF, never shorn - Jude Anderson
Very good luster!
1st - 2013 TxOLAN Yearling, MF, never shorn - Sharon Loner
Lots of glowing comments (pun intended). She said "Beautiful little girl. I love this female"! She mentioned her correct set and that she (Rain) moves out smoothly. The judge went on to talk about Rain's high degree of luster, excellent substance of lock.
3rd - 2013 National Western Stock Show Yearling, MF, never shorn - Sara Jane MacClennan
The judge noted that she was the most lustrous alpaca in the group. She also spoke favorably of her locking and consistency and staple length. When she saw the regrowth in the spot where our shearer helpfully ;) took a sample in her side, she told us to shear her and let her grow!
1st - 2012 ABR Fall Festival Yearling, MF, never shorn - Cathy Merkley
Her luster and locking again placed her well in the competition.
4th - 2012 Great Western Alpaca Show (Level 5) Juvenile, MF, never shorn - Diana Timmerman
Her luster and locking were definitely noticed. She was smaller than any other in her group, at nearly the youngest.
5th - A-OK Blastoff Juvenile, MF, never shorn - David Balboza
- as it was very small show, her class was a combined class so that all others were either from Broken Road or Mystic Springs.... It was a tough class!

Very lustrous and locking! I am looking to get her shorn pictures up and I really wish we had shorn her first year so that we could have shown her ...
