Kamala came to our herd with a notable lingering fineness, which is not surprising from a long line of fine fibered animals. Her sire, Denver Rio Grande, is a Pperviuan Royal Fawn and Pp. Leon grandson. And her dam, Brigetta, was observed first hand to have a fine fiber still at her age!
For her 2015 cria, Kamala was bred our new stud Orionn, an Accoyo America Apocalypse son. Both Kamala and Orionn have had crias with a very nice fleece -- crimpy, soft, and shiny -- in color! Her... |

This male may not be the silver grey girl that we were hoping for with this pairing, but he certainly has the fantastic fiber traits that we were hoping for! Crimpy, shiny, soft and well covered -- you cannot help but notice this little guy. Yes, he IS worthy and he is getting better & better with age.
Full Peruvian, with champions in his bloodlines that make you take a second look -- yes, that is the now deceased multiple champion true black Knight Ryder who showed who took the ri... |

We had several attempts to bring in the genetics of this girl's sire, and though she is white when we prefer darker coloration we are happy to have her. Rather than give in to the temptation to just breed her to one of our champion blacks, we decided that her best combination would be to either our multiple champion, Spirit of the industry medium brown Smokejumper or our Judges Choice medium fawn Axios. We chose Axios and have our fingers crossed for a beautiful golden girl -- though her dam has produced everything from beige/white to bay black, and Axios has produced dark brown so far and possesses black / grey in his lineage. No matter what, the offspring should be genetically primed to be colored!
