Why Buy From Autumn Sun Alpacas?
We believe that business is possible with honesty and fairness. We aren't trying to make a sell quick and then escape. We want you to be happy and successful in your business / ownership AND are willing to stand BY you as well as behind our alpacas.
We found alpacas several years ago and jumped at the opportunity to enter this promising industry. We love
the environment and enjoy working with our customers and colleagues. Our breeding plan encompasses a range of
aspects, covering both the alpaca health as well as the fiber quality.
To put it in a nutshell:
-
We maintain strong connections with our colleagues in the alpaca community.
** That mean's you are NOT alone or forgotten once you purchase our alpacas. We are always available to you.
-
We provide honest, helpful service to our customers.
** We want you to make an informed decision so both you and your alpacas thrive.
-
We raise and promote a diversity of colors and bloodlines, so...
** You have a wealth of variety to choose from!
-
We actually USE our fiber and so UNDERSTAND what is needed for GOOD fiber! We cannot stress this enough... How can you know if you are making the right breeding decisions to better the FIBER qualities of your herd and the industry if you don't truly know what you are looking at?
** Far from avoiding the show ring, we pursue showing with equal vigor. We LOVE showing our alpacas and garnering ribbons for them. LET US SHOW YOU HOW!.
Our goal? Healthy crias! Happy alpacas! Satisfied customers!
About Us
Autumn Sun Alpacas is owner
operated by Michael and Mary Livingston since August 2005. We believe
in providing honest and helpful assistance to new and experienced alpaca
customers. Our fiber goal is to breed for lustrous and soft fleece –
balanced by production-worthy density and uniformity of low micron count
across the fiber ‘blanket’ from chest to hip – as well as robustness of
the fiber qualities throughout the animal's production lifespan. In
every alpaca we also promote diverse genetics and healthy animals. We
are achieving our goals through a dedication to a thoughtful selection
of varied and notable bloodlines, careful herd care, and controlled
breeding plans.
We both continue to work full time, but pursue alpaca breeding with the
plan for success and independence. We truly enjoy interacting with the
flighty and cranky pregnant girls, the gangly and curious crias, the
loving and friendly maidens, and the generally stately (but sometimes
downright goofy) herdsires. We don’t mind giving the shots, hauling the
hay, or even scooping the poop. Why? We like being around them – any day
with them is better than working in the office. As livestock, they are
easy to handle. As pets, they are loving. As investments, they are
profitable. We're hooked!
