Details
Misty is the daughter of the renowned Emerald Farm's Rincon Cloud, recently sold and relocated from WA to the east coast. If you are familiar with the great grey breeding programs then you will recognize Rincon Cloud as a sire of champions, the lineage in cherished foundation dams, and a cornerstone of several large grey breeding programs. In addition to the grey loaded into her pedigree from her notable sire, Misty also bears grey lineage in her maternal grandsire Legacy de Bolivia, another of the greats in the grey breeding history. Misty is following in big footsteps, and holding her own well.

Misty is a beautiful medium silver grey girl with excellent color consistency across her body, producing an even slate grey coloration. Her topknot and leg coverage is well developed, adding to her 'show-type' look as further accented by her dark 'bedroom eyes' and the white tuxedo marking of a classic grey. Her fiber staple is long and her fiber micron is consistent between her light and dark fibers -- which gives her a wonderful feel and is highly desired in both the show ring and the fiber spinning groups. The low micron and bright shine (therefore, low scaling) of her fiber adds to this exceptional soft and silky handle. Misty's crimp is medium amplitude with high frequency and is improving each month. We were told that sometimes this is expected with the Rincon genetics and that the best was yet to come. We have found that these 'late bloomers' really enhance after they are shorn of their first fleece.

Misty is well grown for her age and moves freely with a solid and balanced frame. She has calm nature but stands erect with a pose that will serve her well in the show ring. Her fiber is worthy in its own right for show and fiber artisan pieces, and she will serve as an excellent foundation for breeding to produce that next great champion cria.

*Congratulations to Jessie and Sam of Narrow Road Alpaca Ranch and Farm for adding Misty to their grey breeding program!
